Madonna "Donna" Rae (Sobtzak) Weinreich, 58, passed away January 31, 2011 from complications of breast cancer at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI. But she did not go without a fight. Donna fought this horrific disease with a ferocity and determination that many could learn from. For nine years she never gave up.

An Easter Sunday baby, Donna was born April 13, 1952 at the Itasca Memorial Hospital, Grand Rapids, MN. She was baptized at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Coleraine, MN. She graduated May 28, 1970 from Spring Lake Park High School in Spring Lake Park, MN. She graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 1972.

On June 22, 1985, she married Steve Weinreich, in the Little Brown Church in the Wildwood, Nashua, IA. Over the years, they made their home in Lindstrom and Eagan, MN, as well as Luck, Sheboygan and most recently, Plymouth, WI.

Donna was a go-getter and worked for many years as a food broker with the Gordon-Fleming Company where she rose to become vice president and partner. As a food broker, Donna became involved with the Association of Manufacturers Representatives, as well as the Minnesota Frozen Food Association, and was the first female president of both organizations.

In 1999, she moved to Luck, WI, left the food broker business and found a new passion - floral design. She purchased Wood River Floral and Gardens, owning it until 2002, when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer.

After treatment, she re-entered the food business, going back to her first love - the cheese business. She worked part-time for seven years for Sargento one of the first companies she had represented as a food broker. She loved being part of the Sargento family, where she had many good friends.

Donna had many hobbies in her life, but two of her favorite passions were traveling and she was a certified deep-sea diver and thoroughly enjoyed her many diving trips in the Caribbean, with her diving friends - Marilyn and Amy Radermacher.

Some of her most treasured places to visit and spend time were her lakecabins. She loved the water, the scenery and animals, especially the loons.

Donna also enjoyed her "sister weekends" with her two sisters, Karen and Celeste. They all treasured their time together no matter what they were doing - shopping, eating, taking in a play, sightseeing, playing Farkel or just spending time.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. (visitation 9 to 10:30 a.m.) at Easter Lutheran Church, 4200 Pilot Knob Road in Eagan, MN. A gathering of friends will also take place on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Town Hall in Townsend, WI.

Memorials are preferred to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization that Donna wholeheartedly believed in and raised several thousands of dollars to help find a cure for breast cancer. She participated in the 3-Day, 60-Mile Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk twice - once in 2006 and again in 2007.

The family would like to thank Dr. Haid and his caring staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic in Sheboygan, WI for all their wonderful care. They would also like to thank the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI.

Donna is survived by her husband Steve; son Chris (Dawn) Cooper, O'Fallon, IL; step-son Brad (Mindy Carnes) Weinreich, St. Paul, MN; grandchildren Nathan Cooper, Lily Weinreich, and Irvin Weinreich; parents Leona and Red Schneider, Glenwood, MN; Ray Sobtzak, Coleraine, MN; sisters Karen (Elroy) DeSchepper, Jasper, MN; Celeste (Al) Edenloff, Alexandria, MN; brothers, Al (Shirley) Sobtzak, Boise, ID; Steve (Lori) Sobtzak, Mahtomedi, MN; Mike (Kim) Sobtzak, Minnetonka, MN; and Charles (Ann) Schneider, Glen Carbon, IL; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Molly Cooper.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Susan Sobtzak.
