Chisago Lakes 51, Benilde-St. Margaret's 30

Jake Nase (215) pinned his opponent just five seconds into their match as the Wildcats made quick work of Benilde-St. Margaret's. The Wildcats took just 40 minutes to beat the Red Knights 51-30 last Friday, February 11 at Chisago Lakes. The matchup featured seven pins, six forfeits and just one decision among the 14 individual matches. The four Wildcat pins - by Nase, Sean McConville (119), Quade Zupko (125) and Travis Kammerer (171) all took less than a minute.

Wildcat head coach Shawn Frederixon didn't even see Nase's lightning-quick pin. He said "As the match started, I looked away for a second. The crowd roared, I looked back and it was over. Jake went right at the kid and took him down just like that. Dylan Hoyt had a five second pin earlier this season and Jake wanted to beat that time. It looks like he'll have to settle for a tie.

"This was kind of a fast dual. It's the end of the season, guys had certain match counts they have to stay under and other guys are resting up for team sections and trying to heal some injuries. We put enough guys with experience in there to still make it go our way.

'It's a goofy year. The southern part of our section is definitely overbalanced with a lot of good teams. It should be a real fun dual with Mora in the opening round. We know what they do and they know what we do. We didn't deserve a better seed than sixth because we lost to the teams ahead of us. Still, it's not a bad draw for us."
