Myrtle is survived by son Rev. Steven (Debra) Melander; daughters Onallee (John) Serier, and Michele (Ross) Rivard; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother Douglas Streed; sister Kathleen Alden, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Myrtle was the consummate homemaker. Her family meant everything to her and she enjoyed all of the home arts: sewing, cooking, gardening, and entertaining. She especially loved taking care of her grandchildren. Sewing was her passion. Her accomplishments included nine beautiful wedding gowns. She could design anything - costumes, clothing, formal dresses - you name it! She and Floyd loved to travel and spent many winters in Florida and Arizona. She was great at organizing and participated in many organizations including Camp Fire Girls, Hospital Auxiliary, school and church. If something needed doing, she could get it done.
Special thanks to the dedicated caregivers at the J.B. Carlson Cottage on the Parmly Campus and the staff of Fairview HomeCaring & Hospice, who took care of her with such kindness, love and respect.
