She was born August 16, 1922 and raised in St. Paul, but moved to Lindstrom with her husband John in 1976. Dorothy worked at Chisago Lakes Hospital for eight years, and then retired. They wintered in Mesa, Arizona for many years. She loved to work in her flower gardens, crochet and embroider. Her favorite times were spending get togethers with family and friends.
Dorothy was prededed in death by her parents Walter H. and Theresa (Spadino) Karlen; son Richard S. Weber; son Robert E. Weber, Jr., and first husband Robert J. Weber. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, John M. Zechmeister, daughter Barbara (Darrell) Montbriand of Chisago City, son Michael (Linda) Weber of White Bear Lake, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and brother Richard (Patricia) Karlen of Louisville, Kentucky.
Dorothy was a loving and gracious woman who will be forever loved and sadly missed by all.
Memorial Services Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom, and 10 a.m. Interment later at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral home in Lindstrom.
