Helen M. Borg, passed away at Parmly LifePointes on March 24, 2011 at the age of 97.

She was born August 26, 1913 to Claus and Emma Borg of Center City, MN. She was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, Center City, MN. She attended Furuby School in the country north of Center City for eight years. During her teen years she was a housekeeper for several families in the community. Helen and her mother lived in Lindstrom for several years. When her brother Roy's wife died, they unselfishly moved back to the farm to help Roy take care of his young son Norman. They stayed there until 1962 when they moved back to Lindstrom. Helen worked in a number of grocery stores in Lindstrom for 40 years as a cashier and produce manager. She was one of the first residents to move into Valkommen Apartments where she lived for 33 years. She loved it there and had many friends. She also loved to bake and do embroidery. She was a quiet, helpful and loving person and will be missed by many.

Preceding her in death, her parents; brother Roy Borg; sister Evelyn Hjelmberg; brothers-in-law Alver Hjelmberg and Quentin Hall.

Helen is survived by sister Kathryn Hall; many nieces and nephews and their families, other relatives and friends and her extended family at Parmly LifePointes.

Funeral Service 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City. Visitation one hour prior to service at church. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Center City. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom. Condolences may be left at www.grandstrandfh.com.
