Dorothy was 96 years old. She is survived by her loving family, daughter Taran (Allen) Eng, grandchildren Vickie (Robert) Orr, Richard (Denise) Eng, Chris (Gina) Eng, Andrea (Cris) Merry, Marty (Michelle) Eng and great grand children Brandon Orr; Jacob, Breanne, Jordan, Carson, Nicholas, Nathanial, Alexander, Madyson, Isabella, Danica, Jeffrey, and Sophia Eng; Ryan, Kimberly, Kyle and Kaitlyn Merry, and her very special "friends" Honey, Co-Co, Daisy, Skippy and Bacardi. She is preceded in death by (husband) Tellef Knutson.
Dorothy was born in 1915 in Chisago City, MN. She moved to Stillwater, MN as a young child and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1933. Dorothy graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1937. She married Tellef Knutson December 25th, 1943. Upon graduating from the U of M, she taught and worked as a Medical Technologist teaching senior lab students hematology, at the University of Minnesota Hospital until she retired and moved to Lindstrom in 1972. She was very proud of her many years of service at the U of M.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, Lindstrom, MN. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy requested donations be made to Family Pathways Food Pantry of Lindstrom, 12882 1st Ave N, PO Box 947, Lindstrom, MN 55045. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.
