Andrew was born October 26, 1983 in St. Louis Park, MN to David and Tenley Johnson, and passed away September 3, 2013 in Gillette, WY. Andrew grew up in Ham Lake and Chisago City and graduated from Chisago Lakes High School. He then attended Florida Institute of Technology, finishing his college education at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
He began his career in mining engineering in Decker, MT; Craig, CO; and then Gillette, WY. Andrew enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, backpacking, hiking, and taking in the night sky with telescopes. His passion, however, was sharing that love with other people. His quick wit, laughter and smile were easily contagious. His love continued to overflow for everything. Andrew didn’t take anything for granted.
Love for Andrew will continue from those surviving: mother and father, Tenley and David; brothers Tim and Tom (Rebecca and expected niece or nephew, “Little Cub”). Also surviving are uncles and aunts Tim (Kathleen), Carmia (Ron), Peggy (Bob), and Carol; as well as many cousins.
He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and Aunt Lori. Andrew, this is much too early. We have learned much from you and tears are overflowing. Our hearts are shattered, but you are now waiting for us in Heaven. (We love you hon.) Funeral service was Monday, September 9, at Glen Cary Lutheran Church, in Ham Lake, MN. Visitation was Sunday, September 8 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN and one hour before the service at church. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
