Dale Westlund

Dale L. Westlund of Taylors Falls died Friday September 20 at Parmly LifePointes in Chisago City, at the age of 83.

Dale was born February 26, 1930 in Minneapolis to David and Isobel Westlund. He graduated from Taylors Falls High School in 1948. On June 16, 1956 he married his wife Donna at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund. He farmed the home farm and for 28 years also worked for the Metropolitan Airports Commission. In his free time he enjoyed canoeing and fishing trips, playing basketball, pitching for the Almelund fast pitch team, bowling, hunting, and golfing.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents David and Isobel; his step-dad Lewis Fosen and sister Joanne Peterson.

He is survived by his wife Donna; children John (Kay) Westlund of Hugo, Karen Westlund of Little Canada, David (Candace) Westlund of Cottage Grove; grandchildren Joshua, Briana, Nathan, Samantha; brother John (Nancy) Westlund of Forest Lake, and sister Laurie Hastings of Chisago City.

Visitation 4 to 7 PM Friday, September 27 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday September 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund. Interment Almelund Cemetery. www.grandstrandfh.com
