She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Goranson; parents Arvid and Emily Nordeen; siblings Walter, Albert, Archie, Roger, Hazel Magnuson, Edith Anderson and son-in-law Tom Bourasa.
She is survived by daughters Ardyce Harms (David), Betty Bourasa, Carol Runeberg (Norman); son Ted Goranson (Becky); eight grandchildren: Darin (Lisa) Bourasa, Angie (Trent) McKay, Jackie (Adam) Wojtowicz, Brad (Jaime) Runeberg, Brian (Cindy) Harms, Emily Goranson, Anna Goranson, James Goranson; eight great-grandchildren; Aaron, Jacob, Jordan, Austin, Jenna, Allison, Madysen, Katelynn; brother Kermit Nordeen; sisters-in-law Phyllis Nordeen Cartwright (Roger) and Dorothy Nordeen (Archie) and many nieces and nephews.
She was born May 1, 1913, the fourth child of eight born to Arvid and Emily Nordeen, and grew up in Sunrise, Minnesota. She was baptized in the Christian faith, and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund in 1925.
She then worked as a housekeeper in Center City, Wayzata and Pasadena, California. Upon returning to Minnesota, she married Ralph Goranson in 1940, and was Blessed to celebrate 47 years together on the Goranson Farm.
She was an active member of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church where she attended Women’s Bible Study, taught Sunday school, and sang in the church choir. She lived on the Goranson Farm in Shafer until moving into Parmly LifePointes in 2008.
She devoted herself to God, family and friends.
Funeral services were Tuesday, September 23 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery in Center City. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home www.grandstrandfh.com
