She was born in Minneapolis to Edward and Alice Colberg on January 14, 1935. She graduated from Edison High School in 1954 and after graduation she met and married the love of her life and soul mate Frank C. Dusenka. They were married on January 28, 1956. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. In 1968 she and Frank took over her father’s business. She was active in the family business until 1997 when she retired. She loved antique shows, flea markets and shopping. Her most treasured times were with her family at their home on Chisago Lake and their winter home in Texas.
She is preceded in death by son-in-law Ted Dougherty April 12, 1995. Shirley is survived by devoted and loving husband Frank; son Frankie (Debbie), daughter Kim Dougherty, son Brad, and daughter Tracy (Marc) Clay; grandchildren Frankie (Lisa), Joe (Emily), Shawn, Shaina, Marcus, Matthew, Mitchell, and Annie; great grandchildren Frankie, William, Lillian, Delilah, Drake, Taylor, and Serenity; sister Elaine Colberg, brother Dale (Donna) Colberg, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom. Visitation one hour prior to the mass at church. Interment at Chisago Memorial Park in Chisago City.
The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to nurses and aids from Hospice during these past few weeks, they were a tremendous help!
