Carmel was born January 28, 1958 in Carmel CA.
Carmel was raised in Monterey, CA until moving to Cairo, IL. as a youth. She graduated from high school in Cairo then attended Paducah Technical College earning a degree in Auto Mechanics. After graduation she moved to Saint Paul, MN where she worked as a mechanic and parts manager at the downtown Sears.
Carmel enjoyed fishing, camping and barbequing. She especially loved Halloween and the Green Bay Packers. Those that knew her could attest to her great story telling ability and her sense of humor. Her southern accent made the stories even better. Carmel will be missed by her Lindstrom friends and especially Keith and Robin.
Carmel and her long-time partner Lisa Kantorowicz passed away together at their home due to a faulty furnace, along with their pet dog Nugget and their Guinea Pigs. They will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her step-father Andrew Engebretso, siblings Mark and Rebecca Richardson and her infant sister Mary Rachel Sherril. She is also preceded by Oliver and Edna Victor of Cairo, Illinois who raised Carmel.
Survivors include: mother Rachel Engebretson, Balsam Lake, WI; brother Dale (Mary Ann) Sherrill; brother Daniel (April), Saint Paul, MN; sister Margaret Engebretson, Balsam Lake, WI; nephews Christopher Sherrill, Thomas Richardson, Jeb Richardson, and niece Maxine Richardson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 17, 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Balsam Lake, WI. Pastor Diane Norstad will officiate. Carmel's family will greet visitors from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with the arrangements. Internment Grand Chain, IL.
