David A. Anderson, age 61 of North Branch formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado fought the good fight and died peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at his home in North Branch.  

David was born June 25, 1953 in Park Rapids, Minnesota to parents, Eugene and Valerie (Palmquist) Anderson.  Through his life growing up they lived in several places including Malmo, Minnesota, Meriden, Iowa, LaCrosse, Wisconsin and North Branch, Minnesota where he graduated from high school in 1972.  David attended Trinity College in Deerfield, Illinois.  He graduated from Trinity in 1976 with a degree in Math.  He earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and his Masters Degree in Astrodynamics from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.

David met Cindee Holt in high school and after they finished their education they were married on July 15, 1978.  David and Cindee had two children, Rachel and Evan.  David started his career at Unisys in Eagan, Minnesota where he worked for 14 years.  In 1992 the family moved to Colorado Springs where he worked for several different companies until he was disabled from ALS in March of 2013.

David is survived by his wife Cindee; daughter, Rachel (Arick) Madrigal of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Evan (Nicki) Anderson of Ft. Collins, CO; grandchildren, Isaiah, Abby, Aria and Caleb Madrigal; brothers, S. LaReau (Tammy) Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO; Lane (Ann) Skoglund-Anderson of Hopkins; Dana (Becky) Anderson of Eagan and Dwight (Marcie) Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.  David is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Valerie.

Many thanks to Dr. David Walk at the University of Minnesota ALS Center and his staff; Fairview Lakes Hospice who gave wonderful care to Dave through his end of life care.  Also, thanks to all the prayer warriors who prayed for Dave as he journeyed through ALS.  He is now at home with his heavenly father.

Dave wishes his memorials to be directed to Springs Community Church in Colorado Springs, CO; The ALS Association or Fairview Lakes Hospice.

Funeral services will be   noon  Saturday, May 16 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch, with LaRue Anderson presiding.  Music will be by family members Zoe Anderson and Lane Skoglund-Anderson.  Visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.  Interment will follow the service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch.  Casketbearers will be LaRue Anderson, Dana Anderson, Lane Anderson, Dwight Anderson, David Gilmore and Steve Hals.  Honorary Casketbearers are Evan Anderson and Arick Madrigal.
