Elouise Holmquist, age 91, freed from this world and made whole and perfect on May 5, 2015.

She died in Chisago City, MN with all four of her children embracing her and singing her way to Heaven. Nothing in life gave her more joy than being with her family.  Although she held many and various jobs in life, nothing satisfied her more than lovingly caring for her home and family.  Known as an excellent cook and seamstress, her home shone with “a place for everything and everything in its place”.   She taught the importance of time spent together such as  picnics with her delicious fried chicken and potato salad, rides in the family car singing in harmony, and nightly dinners at the table together. She taught us how to properly swaddle our babies and gave wise child rearing advice. Her devotion and love for her husband Grant was an example to her children, building a strong foundation for their own marriages. They loved to travel together and volunteer their time to make life’s journey easier for others.  A lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, her faith was an integral part of her life. Her values and beliefs have molded her family and will continue for generations to come. Even in her last years spent with dementia, she was greatly loved by the staff at Isabel’s House at Parmly Ecumen with her sweet demeanor.

Elouise was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Arlie Oden;  brother Marvin Oden and beloved husband, Grant.

She is survived by her children:  Janice (Donald) Ringstmeyer, Kim (Julie) Holmquist, Connie (Dale) Lien, Holly (James) Schaude; grandchildren Matthew, Megan, Kjirsten, William, Ryan, Kristian, Jonathan, Katherine, Justin, Jenna and Britton, as well as two great grandchildren, Elise and Hadley.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City with visitation being held one hour prior to the service. Interment at South Green Lake Cemetery in Chisago City.

Memorials preferred. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.  Condolences may be left online at www.grandstrandfh.com
