Delbert is survived by sons Roger (Kathy) Wood, Lynn (Pam) Longnecker, Mike Longnecker, six grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren; brothers Ray and Gordon Longnecker, sisters Yvonne 'Sis' (Lawrence) McKenzie, Joyce 'Snookie' Schrock; brother in law Jim Johnson, and many other friends and relatives.
Delbert attended Taylors Falls and St. Croix Falls schools. He was actively involved in local sports in his youth including softball, baseball, and hockey. He served in the Army which included a tour of duty in Japan. Once he returned he owned several local businesses including a café, meat market, real estate, sock and flea market businesses. He also owned farms in Shafer and Palmdale. He was a founding member of the Taylors Falls Lions Club. During the early years he played an active role in creating the Taylors Falls Lion Club Park.
He died of complications related to congestive heart failure at Ecumen in North Branch. Funeral to be held on April 16 at 11 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Taylors Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Private interment at Kahbakong Cemetery at a later date.
