JoDee Ann Hagstrom, age 57, of Pine City, (formerly of Maple Grove and Lindstrom), died on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Sophie’s Manor in Pine City.

JoDee was born on May 1, 1959 in Lindstrom to parents, Thomas and Mary (Palmer) Hagstrom.  She grew up in Lindstrom and graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 1977.  She loved to ice skate and was fortunate enough to have an ice rink right next door to her house. JoDee was also a good bowler and played softball for CC Rider’s, a local women’s’ softball team where she was the pitcher. One of JoDee’s hobbies was to find old furniture and restore it back to the natural grain. She liked to be busy, never slowing down until the end of the day. After high school, JoDee worked for State Farm and AIG insurance. JoDee lived for a time in Maple Grove and then moved to Brooklyn Center where she purchased an old school house, which she renovated. Decorating her home was something she took great pride in and the school house was perfect for her to do just that. JoDee also enjoyed sewing and table runners with placemats were a specialty.  In 2001 JoDee moved to Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina but health issues and missing family and friends brought her back home to the Lindstrom area in 2005. JoDee was diagnosed with Melas Syndrome.  In 2007, JoDee made her home at Sophie’s Manor Assisted Living in Pine City where she enjoyed word finds, People magazine, playing solitaire and making others laugh.  You never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. She fought a long battle and is now at peace. She will be missed by family and friends and we should all remember she maintained her wonderful sense of humor even when her body failed her.  JoDee died peacefully with family by her side.

JoDee is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Mary; brother Cary and grandparents.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Fairview Hospice.

Memorial services  at 4 p.m., Friday, August 26,  at  Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch with Pastor Julie Samuelson officiating.  Visitation held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.  Family interment followed the service at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom.

Arrangements were under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.  Condolences may be left at www.grandstrandfh. com.
