Jean was born Oct. 6, 1937 in Shafer, MN to Russell and Mamie Olson. She grew up in Shafer and married her high school sweetheart John Edwards in 1955, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City, MN. Jean and John were married 60 years and had three children. Jean worked for Honeywell for many years. The family moved to Texas in 1976. Jean also worked at Comanche Peak during the construction phase before opening a small business with her husband.
Jean was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Despite her own health issues, she dedicated her last years to taking care of John during his lengthy battle with ALS. She was thoughtful, considerate, loving, kind and always put others before herself. She was extremely hard working and loved to spend time with family, as well as to read, bake and travel. Jean even went on a 3,500 mile motorcycle trip with John, to Yellowstone in the 1980s. She was a precious soul and was loved by everyone who met her.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Dean; parents, Russell and Mamie Olson; brother, Leroy Olson; and sisters, Ardell Hulett and Pauline Bullard. Words cannot express how much Jean will be missed.
Survivors: daughters Lori Williams, and Sue Cantu and husband, Dayne; grandchildren: Nicole McElyea, Shadell Sedillo, Erin Vann, Cassie Williams, Jason Smith, Daphne Williams, David McElyea and April Bertelsen; sister Marion Tuominen and numerous great grandchildren.
