Florence's husband, George M. Poulsen, lives in North Branch. Also surviving her are her four brothers and their wives: Robert and Robin, William and Gertrude, Eugene and Marty, Kenneth and Lynn. Her legacy includes her grandchildren Curtis Anthony Travnick and his wife, Ana Maria; Chad Paul Travnick, Caleb Wayne Travnick, Clinton Andrew Travnick, Clark Abel Travnick, Cherish Anne Travnick, Ashley Taylor Martinez and Corissa Jean Martinez. Along with Florence's heritage of great grandchildren and relatives the number reaches more than 50.
To those who knew Florence just her name most often would elicit memories of kindness, sacrifice, wisdom and friendship. For her, life was about relationships; first with her Savior, family and friends. Always to be the one to put others’ needs before her own, Florence served in various ministries helping others. One of her last outreaches was to serve meals to others through Meals on Wheels up to the closing days of her mobility. Ironically, within a month of serving meals to others, she herself was in the uncomfortable place of needing to be served. What a new and unfamiliar role in which Florence was placed! The servant being served!
Florence is the reason family and friends wish that heaven had visiting hours. She, with her generous spirit, will be greatly missed during our celebration of her life!
Her Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Lakes Free Church, 29620 Olinda Trail in Lindstrom, MN 55045 with visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Family requests no gifts or flowers. Donations can be given for Christian Education at the service or by mailing them to Curtis Travnick, PO Box 234, Lindstrom, MN 55045. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home, in Lindstrom.
