Speaking of Christmas, the First United Methodist Church puts on the free Christmas meal, and are in need of your assistance. They are in need of volunteers to work the dinner and volunteers to cook for the meal. They are looking for turkeys to be cooked and brought to the dinner. If you can or would like to donate a turkey or your time, they ask you please call the church at (651) 257-4306.
If you are going to be alone or your family is not traveling on Christmas, you are invited to come enjoy the meal. The meal runs Christmas day from noon to 1:15 pm and is free. They do ask that you reserve your spot(s) by calling 257-4306.
Many of you know that we collect clothing for the homeless here at the Press. Hundreds (yes hundreds) of you have donated ove the years and for that I say “Thank you”. We still continue to collect for the homeless and I wanted to pass along to you some of the needs. While all clothing is appreciated, there is real neeed for men’s clothing. They are in need of socks, underwear, sweatshirts and pants. Of course boots and shoes are always welcome, but the previous mentioned is most pressing.
You can drop off here at the Press and if for some reason you can’t make it in, just give me a call and I can come pick-up the donations.
