Both sides of the river had huge crowds all during the celebration and the parade was as big as I can remember.
Thanks so much to the Wannigan Days committee especially Lynn Longnecker for all of your hard work to ensure we all had a great time. Thanks also to Wade and Carol Vitalis who sponsored the White Sidewalls concert and Romaynes who sponsored the Show Us Your Hits concert Saturday evening. We have a couple of pages of photos if you happened to miss the celebration in this edition of the Press.
This weekend is the Chisago County Fair. The Fair is held in Rush City (no - it’s not that far away) and begins Thursday and runs until Sunday afternoon.
Thursday has a motocross at 7pm and the band on the big stage will be ‘The Soupbones’ which begins at 9pm.
Friday there is a demo derby at 7pm with fireworks to follow.
Saturday there is a magic show, another demo derby and ‘Good for Gary’ headlining the stage at 9pm.
Sunday is the 4H pet and cat show, a kids pedal tractor pull and the talent contest which begins at 1pm.
Besides all that I just listed, there are carnival rides, games, wonderful food booths, and most importantly the County Fair parade takes place Saturday at 3pm with the Patriot Parachute Team at the beginning of the parade. They will be landing in the fairgrounds so get there early.
Remember that both Chisago City and Lindstrom Farmers’ Markets are open and thriving right now. The Chisago City market runs Friday afternoons and evenings at Moberg Park and Lindstrom holds theirs Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings in the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church parking lot. I am told the vegetables are amazing right now.
