Section Preview for area volleyball squads
Chisago Lakes will be looking to defend their Section 4AAA championship begining this week on Wednesday, October 26.
They don’t quite have the high seed like last year — they are fourth this year after an 8-20 regular season — but they did host their first round match up against fifth-seeded St. Anthony Village, whom they beat 3-0 just a week and a half ago.
If they were able to beat the Huskies (the game was played after the Chisago County Press went to print), they would take on top seeded Mahtomedi, who was 22-5 on the regular season, and beat Chisago Lakes 2-0 in their match up at the CL Tournament in early October.
That game would be played on Tuesday, November 1 at 7 p.m.
NORTH BRANCH
The Vikings also earned a fourth seed in Section 7AAA and will host the fifth-seeded Princeton Tigers on Thursday, October 27. They swept Princeton in late September in the team’s only match up of the year.
If they win, they’ll travel to Grand Rapids to take on the top-seeded Grand Rapids Thunderhawks on Wednesday, November 2 at 6 p.m.
Grand Rapids was 24-4 on the regular season and actually opened their season with a 3-0 win over North Branch.
