Celebration was still a great time, despite warm temps and bad ice
The majority of the celebration took place at Chuckie Lundquist Park in Chisago City. Although an abbreviated celebration, people still came out in droves. The weather was in the 40’s which made the ice a little tricky for the pond hockey, but there were plenty of people wearing shorts - yes shorts.
There were people all over Chisago Lakes looking for the hidden medallion (see page 1). The pancake breakfast, the booya, the lasagna dinner— they all had great turnout over the weekend.
We went with friends on the candlelight walk at Allemansratt Park and it was fantastic. There were a ton of people enjoying a walk by candlelight with the stars shining bright.
Thanks to the Chamber for putting a bright spin on an event that didn’t turn out quite as planned. Thanks to the Chisago Lakes Bulldogs for putting on a great pond hockey event, thanks to the Good Neighbors Club who assisted in all of the events and thanks to the Chisago Lakes Lake Association for filling our stomach with s’mores.
We all appreciate the great break from a harsh winter.
If you have donated clothing to the homeless shelter this season, I sincerely thank you. I got a call from the group today that the donations have all gone to, and they told me a church in the cities has just donated an entire school bus full of clothing. Thus they do not have the storage capacity to take anymore winter and warm clothing.
So, if you had some sitting aside that you were planning on donating, you may have to hold them. I am currently looking for another group to donate to. I will keep you posted, and again, thank you.
And, Happy Birthday to one of my best friends and baby brother, Sean Silver.
