If you have been to our website recently, you would have noticed something different.  We just got a brand spanking new website that when it is fully finished will have all the bells and whistles of the last one with  more cool features.  

Instantly you will notice it is crisper looking and the photos, which we were limited to posting very small on our last website, are now larger and much clearer.  

The whole site reads better and we are excited about it.  

The website does ask for your registration but it isn’t required (no we don’t email you nor will your emails be seen by anyone) The reason is mostly for those who wish to place a classified ad, or subscribe online.  If you have tried subscribing in the last four days and it was unsuccessful, I would urge you to give it another shot.  We have worked out the kinks and it is working perfectly.  Another item to mention, if you are subscribing or buying an ad, don’t be put off by the PayPal window.  I understand many of you (us) don’t have a PayPal account.  If you look, there is a spot to choose Visa/Mastercard/Discover etc. instead of PayPal.  

We hope you enjoy the new website, our old one was a dinosaur and clunky.

This Mother’s Day weekend the state of Minnesota invites all moms to be part of “Take Mom Fishing” weekend.  Moms can fish without a license and you are invited to join the Minnesota Moms Fishing Challenge which is a virtual fishing contest. You would submit your photo of you and your fish caught to the Minnesota Moms Fishing Challenge Facebook page. There will be random drawings for Scheel's gift cards.  No fish is too small or big, so join the Facebook page and set the hook.

This weekend there is an opportunity to help you declutter your life.  Mark and his crew at AAA Recycling are holding their first of the year recycling event in Center City.  The event is held in the lower parking lot of the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church and will run from 8am to 2pm.  You can pretty much get rid of anything and for either a small fee or free.  A word to the wise....get there early.

Let’s Go Fishing invites you to the pancake breakfast Saturday. The meal will be  at Main Street Church in North Branch and runs from 8-11am.  There is a silent auction and a raffle.  You could win a kids’ ATV!  See you there.
