Is that rain? No it’s my tears, groups donate a ton(s) of food

News

Sunday was a deluge of rain and wind in Chisago County.  While the wind seemed as if we were in a low level hurricane, one thing that certainly was welcomed in our home was the moisture.  As I have stated here many times, the lake levels have become incredibly low with the lack of winter moisture and the end of the summer drought.  So, yes my plans to sunbathe took a hit on Sunday but there was extra moisture in the air from tears of joy.  (Sorry to put that image in your head.)

I was so disheartened to see someone spray painted grafitti on Zion Lutheran in Chisago City.  I am old, I’m not even trying to hide that fact, but I have never (even when I was a rowdy kid) saw the lure or payoff to defacing  property.      What is the satisfaction? To show your one friend that you did those scribbles with a paint can on a church?  Good grief there are some dumb people in the world.  Yes, I usually lump myself in as below the median in smarts, but these idiots take it to a whole ‘nother level.  I am sure they would be perfectly fine if I or you spray painted crappy art all over their car...

Thanks to the Lions Club, The Good Neighbors Club and Chisago Lake Lutheran Church for their amazing volunteer work and donations to our local food shelf. The three organizations collected almost 3,000 pounds of food to help friends and neighbors in need.  Absolutely amazing.  Thanks to the volunteers and to you the public for donating to their food drives!

For those of you who have called us asking about the compost site for Lindstrom,  Chisago City, Wyoming and Stacy residents, you are in luck.  Weather permitting, the compost site will open its gate for the season April 17.  The site will be open on Wednesday, Saturdays and Sundays until November or the cold weather kicks in.

On April 20 at Ojiketa Regional Park, you are invited to come experience a wholistic expo.  The expo will feature 15 wellness vendors, with free wellness classes all day long, as well as free seminars featuring wellness experts.  The event is free and runs from 11am ti 5pm.  There will be door prizes as well as swag bags for the first 50 visitors to the expo.

Ojiketa is located at 27500 Kirby Avenue, off Old Towne Road south in Chisago City.

Thanks to all who took advantage of our early renewal promotion.  This is the last week of the coupon so if you had been meaning to clip it out and save a bit of money, please do so this week.  Again thanks for reading!
