Thanks so much to the organizers who once again put on a great Center City Days.  The weather was beautiful and the crowds were plenty.  Our area basically has a celebration every weekend of the summer. The great thing is that each one of them offers something different.

Speaking of events, the city of Stacy now has the spotlight.  Stacy Daze starts this Friday and runs through Sunday.

Beginning Friday, you and your family are invited to a huge classic car show held at the Stacy-Lent Fire Department,  The show opens at 5pm.  In Lions Park beginning at 6pm, there is a talent show accompanied by food trucks for your dining enjoyment.  There is still time to register for the talent show at [email protected].

Saturday at 8am, there is a 5K run/walk sponsored by Escape Salon.  Please come a bit earlier to register for the race. The race/walk starts and ends at Lions Park.

The park will be filled with food vendors and craft vendors as well as inflatables, so bring some cash and enjoy the day.

Stacy Grand Day Parade begins at noon and works its way from St. John’s Lutheran Church down Stacy Trail through town past Lions Park.

When the parade is done, head back to Lions Park for a free root beer float and your kids can also enjoy free rock painting at Stacy Kindness Rock Garden.

There is live music as well as bingo at the park that will run from 3-6pm.  Stacy fireworks will blast off at 9:30pm at Lions Park followed by the street dance featuring NDY.  As always, the Stacy Daze softball tournament takes place all three days and is jam packed with teams from all over.

Last weekend, we gathered for our annual “brothers” get-together at a friend’s cabin outside of Spooner Wisconsin.  My wife and I along with my brother and his wife join our good friends from our childhood for a long weekend on a Wisconsin lake.  It was just what the doctor ordered.  We literally ate, floated, swam and drank a couple of beers.  Then repeated the next two days.  Absolutely a stress reliever to say the least.  I have not laughed that hard in a very long time.

Other than a sweet sunburn and a hoarse voice, it was a fantastic trip.  We grew up with “the other brothers” and even though we don’t see each other very much, it was like we still were 14 years old.
