Patricia Lee Madetzke, age 72, of Chisago City, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at her home.

Patricia was born on November 16, 1951 to Edwin and Marcella (Anderson) Mathias in St. Paul, Minnesota. She attended high school at South Saint Paul and graduated class of 1970.  She was united in marriage to Allen Madetzke on February 16, 1974 at St. Augustus Church in South Saint Paul. This marriage was blessed with three children. Patricia worked in retail for a few years. Once her children were born, she decided to stay home and take care of them. 

Patricia loved everything to do with her family. She would take the kids on bike rides and they would go camping in the summer as a family. One thing Pat would do, is to make sure to read to her children every day and continued her trend, reading to her grandchildren. 

Patricia enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, crafting and baking. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her children and grandchildren.  Many would say she had a very big heart, who would take care of anyone before herself. She will be missed by many. 

Patricia is survived by her husband Allen; sons, Josh (Cara) and Shawn (Erica); grandchildren, Spencer, Cece and Madeline Madetzke; siblings, Debbie (Steve) Toth, Scott (Diane) Hirschey, Greg (Janis) Mathias, Jackie (Tim Randall) Mathias and Kim (Will) Tanfield; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Marcella; daughter Sarah Jean; brothers, Tom and Larry Mathias. 

Celebration of life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Grandstrand Funeral Home, Lindstrom, MN with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lindstrom, MN. Condolences may be expressed online at www. grandstrand fh.com.
