Still plenty of fun to be had
Okay, the Celebration of the Lakes is still on. We have had plenty of calls inquiring about the event so I am here to shed some light.
Are some things cancelled? Yes - Events that were scheduled to take place on the lakes have been cancelled. This means radar run, kids snowmobile races, the ice carousel, ice car racing and the pond hockey tournament.
Now the good news - all of the other scheduled events ARE happening and promise to be a good time.
The candlelight trail walk at Allemansratt Park is a great event and runs from 5:30-8:30pm on Friday. Beginning at 6pm at Strom Hall at Ojiketa Regional Park in Chisago City is the kids movie night. Also taking place Friday evening is the Hawaiian luau fashion show at Winehaven at 6pm. The Loon will host a cornhole tournament from 6-10pm Friday and Jake’s On The Lakes will host bingo from 8-10pm.
Saturday kicks off with a pickleball tournament at the Wildcat Community Center at 8am. Contact Community Ed to register. Beginning at 9:30 am at Chuckie Lindquist Park in Chisago City, you will find food trucks and a beer garden along with s’mores and games fo the kids.
Find the lost medallion in Chisago Lakes and win some cold hard cash. The hunt begins at 10 am with clues being posted on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
The Loon will host a community booya at 3pm until gone. The drawing for the ATV giveaway will be at Chuckie Lindquist Park at 4pm. You can purchase tickets at the park all day on Saturday.
Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City is hosting their lasagna dinner to-go event that begins at 4pm. There is a suggested $8 donation for the meal and they ask you to call the church at 651-257-6300 to reserve your dinner.
There is a cribbage tournament at the Wildcat Community Center that begins at 4pm. Contact Community Ed to register.
Saturday evening has plenty to entertain you. There is a polka dance at Lindstrom City Hall at 6pm, a dance at the Loon at 7pm, a live band at Jake’s On The Lakes at 8pm and the fireworks have been moved - I repeat the fireworks have been moved. They will now be shot off at Paradise Park Saturday evening at 6:30pm.
Sunday the good folks at Trinity Lutheran Church invite you to their pancake breakfast from 8-11am. Chisago Lake Lutheran is hosting their annual Grumpy Old Men service where all are welcome and wear your flannel. The service begins at 9 am.
The weekend wraps up back at Trinity with family bingo at 4pm.
See still plenty to do despite the mid-April temps. We will see you there!
