Bingo, bingo everywhere

Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  If you are going to be alone this Thanksgiving, you don’t have to be.  The good folks at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City invite any and all to come enjoy Thanksgiving with them and others.  The meal is  free and features all of the wonderful traditional turkey meal fixings.  I have assisted with the meal in the past, and I have to be honest, that meal looked more appealing then some we have traveled to with family.  You are asked to please make reservations by November 25 so they know how much to prepare.  You can contact them at 651-257-6300 or email them at [email protected].

Speaking of Thanksgiving, this Friday, the Taylors Falls Lions Club invites any and all to their annual turkey and ham bingo.  The event is held at the Taylors Falls Community Center at 6:30 p.m.  They will have food and beverages available for purchase.

Also Friday night, the Center City Fire Department will hold their annual bingo night, at the Center City Fire Hall, The event features cash bingo as well as a turkey for a coverall.  The event begins at 7 p.m. and will also have food and beverages for purchase.

Saturday, back in Chisago City, the American Legion invites all to their turkey bingo.  The event takes place at the Uncommon Loon and begins at 7 p.m.  Yes, children are allowed in the event.  On top of winning a turkey, there will also be meat raffles that night.

Remember Taylors Falls Lighting Festival is the day after Thanksgiving. I can’t stress this enough, if you have never been to the festival, you have no idea what you are missing.  The entire town is lit up all at once which is followed by a lighted parade down main street. It’s right out of a Hallmark movie.  The event begins at 6 p.m. but I encourage you to get there early, there are snacks and beverages available to keep you warm.   Let’s just hope Mother Nature doesn’t plan on crashing the party.

The North Branch Lions are also hosting a Thanksgiving meal. They are doing theirs via delivery this year.  If you or someone you know would like to have a wonderful Thanksgiving meal delivered, please give them a call at 651-237-1115.  They are also looking for volunteers for deliveries if interested.

I know I don’t say this enough, but from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for reading the County Press.  Without you, we don’t exist.
