Shafer City Council briefs....
Shafer City Council held a regular meeting April 1. Council member Nick Brehm and attorney James Monge were absent.
The council quickly passed the 2025 Shafer City Comp Plan.
City clerk Valerie Fox told the council the city’s computer server recently crashed. With only one computer remaining, some of the files which were set on auto save actually saved over and deleted city files. Fox told the council she had spoken to the Computer Wrangler, a computer technician from Stacy, and he suggested a new server and a cloud account. The estimated cost of the new server and software to be around $4,000. Fox said she checked with city finance officer Richard Hill and was assured sufficient funds to replace the computer are in the budget. Council gave permission to have Computer Wrangler install a new server for no more than $4,000.
Council adjourned at 6:05pm.
