Jeanie Marie Foshay of Chisago City, MN, passed away at home on April 6, 2025, two days before her 79th birthday. She grew up in Park Falls WI and White Bear Lake MN. Jeanie attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in White Bear Lake and St. Joseph’s Academy in St. Paul MN.
Jeanie worked for many years as a waitress at the Maple Wheel (where she met Bill Foshay), the Criterian and Kozlak’s Royal Oak. She also worked in the kitchens in the Chisago Lakes schools. Jeanie was a good cook and was known for her baked beans, gum drop sugar cookies, and fudge.
Her hobbies included gardening, canning, cross stitch, reading, bird watching, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a fondness for Pekingese and yellow labs and hobby farm animals. When she was younger, she enjoyed team sports like bowling, billiards, and soft ball. Later in life she enjoyed water aerobics, playing mahjong, watching the MN Twins, and always showing up for the grandkids school activities and events.
Jeanie and Bill built a life together and blended the children from their first marriages into their second. They enjoyed each other’s company, Sunday rides, and visiting family and friends. After Jeanie was diagnosed with dementia, she was lovingly cared for by Bill until her death.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her daughter, Michele (Hoffman) Schneider, and her brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Sue Leahy.
She is survived by her husband Bill, their children John Hoffman (Deb) and Justin Hoffman (Jasmine), son-in-law (Tom Schneider), Marlene Foshay Schmitt (Dan), Treff Foshay, Jeff Foshay, grandchildren Joe, Tyler, Matthew, Emma, Sam, Linus, Teddy and Grayson, and her oldest/dearest friend Kay Mayer.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom MN on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at noon.
The family would like to thank Allina Hospice and the support of family and friends.
