Sunday, April 3 sheriff’s deputies attempted a traffic stop while on patrol for Rush City, about 10:30 p.m.  The vehicle fled southbound onto I-35, a 31 mile chase ensued that lasted about 20 minutes and ended with an arrest.

Lakes Area Police took a few calls to Chisago Lakes schools over last week. Two middle school students were reported for suspected use of drugs. Also unwanted electronic (cell phone and on-line photo) postings drove people to report complaints at the middle school and high school.

Firefighters and sheriff’s deputies went to a barn fire Tuesday, Feb. 9 in Fish Lake Township on Anchor Avenue, about 5 p.m. The structure was a total loss and the cause is believed to be heat lamps being used to warm a litter of piglets.

Lakes Area Police made an arrest last week of  a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of burglary. She was reportedly found inside of a Lindstrom home that is bank-owned. February 1 a home burglary at a Brich Street address in North Branch reported. Loss of PlayStation gaming units and a wallet.

January 9 smoke accumulating and possible  fire reported at Point Pleasant Heights, Chisago City about 6:30 p.m. The clothes dryer vent had become clogged and lint buildup had ignited.
