A little taste of the tropics

It’s pineapple recipes today. There is so much information about this fragrant fruit from where it originated, how it traveled from country to country and I won’t begin to name all of them. When I think of pineapple, the Hawaiian Islands come to mind. From Kona to Honolulu, then on …

Volunteers grow, gain through mission; will speak at Kost Church

A group of nine area residents started planning a mission trip to Peru a year ago, and now that they have returned, they’ll surely be talking about it for the rest of their lives. Not only were they all moved to act by the Holy Spirit and shared that transformative …

That guy looks familiar, didn't he used to be on television? We lost another gem

Thank you to all who attended the Community Conversation about Conservation.  There were around 375 people  packed into the PAC at the high school.  Paul Douglas was terriffic and was such a natural in front of the microphone.  We as a group, learned a lot about climate change and the …

A trip to Mexico was a breeze; you are all invited to 'Caring for Creation' March 27

So my family finally saved enough money to take a trip out of the country.  We took a spring break trip to Mexico. I won’t bother you with boring dribble about our trip (oh except for waiting for a rental car until 2 a.m.).  It was the first trip we …

The best macaroni and cheese

With the way the temperature has been fluctuating for the past weeks, I’m not sure what direction I should be going with recipes.  How about a couple hot recipes for cooler weather, and for warmer weather.  That should cover it. These are also meatless recipes regardless of your choice of …
