Where has time gone? We are already at the Chisago Lakes Showcase this weekend. Never heard of the Showcase? None of us have. That’s because the Home Show that we all have known since the early 80’s has been rebranded and shortened to one day. The show is still jam …

Feelin’ hot, hot, hot

I was in Jamaica a couple of weeks ago, and I tried to immerse myself as much as I could in their local flavors. I had oxtails, plantains, jerk everything, rice, and a whole host of other things that I can’t remember or couldn’t pronounce!

The two-year ARMER agreement was adopted by the County Board on a 4-1 vote last week with Commissioner Ben Montzka opposed. He stated he couldn’t support the increase of $70 (from $30 to $100 and then in 2026 it becomes $125) in the surcharge for each radio. County Administrator Chase …

All hail St. Patrick and his food!

I was just in Jamaica last week, and as much as I’d like to share some jerk recipes and other traditional Jamaican dishes, I’m going to continue my two weeks of St. Patrick’s Day recipes today, and we’ll leave next week for some of the more tropical fare I had …
