2024 Election Candidate Filing Open

Filing is open for anyone interested in being on a ballot this fall. The filing runs to August 13 for city council, school board seats, and Nessel Township holds its election in November, unlike the other townships which vote in March of every year.

Chisago City approves paving hockey rink for pickleball play

The Chisago City Council on July 23 approved up to $70,000 to blacktop the hockey rink in Chuckie Lundquist Park. This will allow the rink to be used for pickle ball courts in the summer months. The money will come from park dedication fees paid by the developers.

Dresel appointed mayor, special election in Nov.

The Chisago City Council declared a vacancy existed on the city council as the result of Mayor Bob Gustafson’s death. With Acting Mayor Jeremy Dresel abstaining, the remaining three council members then voted last week to appoint Dresel as mayor of Chisago City through this year’s election cycle.
