County Board approves permit for nine dogs; District 1 opening on county planning commission

In something of a surprise move— Chisago County commissioners, with the exception of Jim Swenson— took a chance on the people behind an application to house nine dogs on property in Sunrise Township.  Their Interim Use Permit was authorized 4-1 last week.

Taylors Falls City Council dynamic not yet settled

Taylors Falls City Council started off 2023 holding two meetings this month, with a three-hour second meeting Monday night this week to organize.  The former membership of the council rarely required more than one meeting per month. 

Wyoming Council approves sending East Viking Boulevard out for bids

The Wyoming City Council met shorthanded last week and in a very brief meeting approved,  minus Mayor Lisa Iverson, soliciting bids for the East Viking Boulevard rebuild and the new bridge.

Good turnout for extension of 17 info open house

There were a couple hundred visitors to the Open House last week about a project extending County Road 17 from near the freeway directly easterly to County Road 14. The two-hour open house was held at Lent Township Hall.

Chisago City Council seats Battles

The Chisago City Council welcomed new councilmember Nicole Battles to its ranks at the Jan. 10 organizational meeting. Battles assumes the seat previously occupied by Mark Anderson who chose not file for reelection.
