After an ultra fast start on special teams this year, including a kick return for a touchdown against Proctor and two blocked punts -- one returned for a touchdown -- against Hibbing, the special teams unit of North Branch was riding high.
Head Coach Mike Selbitschka knew Monticello was going to be a tough team to beat this year. They gave North Branch a run for their money last year for the conference crown and only graduated one starter from that team.
Blocking a punt is not the easiest thing to do a in a football game. It takes perfect timing, usually a lapse in the blockers form, and a slow delivery from the punter.
