Snow everywhere, thanks to all who came out to local events
My wife and I just got back from a week long vacation. I am not going to go on about the vacation because let’s be real, the only people who care about vacations are the ones who took them. It’s like listening to someone go on and on about their golf game. The only thing I will mention is that it was warm, like in the lower 90’s warm. So imagine our dismay when we came back to this...yuck. I am writing this Tuesday afternoon staring out at what I think is my truck under all that snow? Two days - two punches in the face. Before we left it was consistently in the 50’s and 60’s. Now I am not sure we will be able to get out of our driveway tomorrow morning. Good ol’ Minnesota.
Thanks to all who came out to the re-branded Chisago Lakes Showcase. From the looks of it, it was well attended and the weather held up. This year’s show was different, but we all knew it would be. Not that the first year is behind us, there is nothing but bigger and brighter days ahead for the show. Personally, I think the one day idea is a great idea. I think the show is in great hands and am excited to see it blossom. Thanks to all who made the show a success this year and thanks to the committee for doing such a great job.
Thanks also goes out to the good folks of Chisago City for hosting the annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday. Despite the snow on the ground, people still managed to come out in droves. Kids were having a blast picking up eggs and searching for the elusive golden egg. Doris and her group of workers do such a wonderful job with the event every year.
Now that the Showcase is past us, we are in full Community Guide mode here at the Press. Many local businesses have reached out to us already to be in the guide already. If we have not contacted you as of yet, please do not hesitate to call us here at the Press at 651-257-5115 or email us at [email protected] and we can help you get your message out in our magazine which is distributed all year long to visitors and locals. I look forward to helping you.
This weekend is Easter weekend. Once again I remind you if you do not want to read something with religious tones, move to the next page. The rest of us will be celebrating the most important religious day Easter (or at least 1A, Christmas is #1) Sunday marks the day that Jesus was resurrected from the dead thus fulfilling scriptures. It is a day to rejoice, a day of validation and a day to celebrate our beliefs.
I have said it here many times, people ask me why I am a believer and I tell them I have been on both sides and I am here today because of what I chose to believe in or whom I chose to believe in. Happy Easter to your family!
