Shafer Days is upon us.  This is one of the very last summer celebrations that we have locally.  I just looked at the forecast and it looks to be spectacular this weekend.

Relay for Life

Threshing Show Tractor Caravan chugs on

The annual Threshing Show is this weekend, between Taylors Falls and Almelund.  It certainly is a colorful event, shown by this grouping of various tractor models participating in the pre-show parade.

Stacy Daze troops on through the rain

Center City vacating right-of-way not a black and white decision

USDA Emergency Authorization helping livestock producers

In response to the severe and worsening drought causing Upper Midwest cattle producers to run out of hay for their herds, U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith (D-Minn.) announced that producers can now request haying and grazing on Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) land in 79 Minnesota counties. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) authorized the change on Wednesday, August 4.
