Following a brutal non-conference schedule, the Chisago Lakes girls basketball team opened up their North Suburban Conference shcedule with two straight wins.

In the season-opener, which ended up being more of a warm up than anything, the North Branch girls basketball team plowed through the Minneapolis Patrick Henry Patriots.
Although the ground is about to freeze over and white will coat the green grass with a glaze of snow, the Lakes Area Recreational Association (LARA) just polished off a gem of a baseball field and expansion to Ki Chi Saga County Park.
The North Branch boys' hockey team participated in the preseason Turkey Day Tournament in Siren, Wisconsin November 27th and 28th and skated away with the championship trophy.
With the lights shining in the humid University of Minnesota Aquatic Center, five Chisago Lakes girls blocked out any nerves or uneasiness they may have had and harnessed their confidence for some spectacular performances over a three-day period last weekend.
Over the weekend, three football players, Brandon Johnson, Scott Bossard, and Kaj Johnson, along with Head Coach Justin Sawyer, gave up their Saturday to walk around town collecting food for the North Branch Food Shelf.
